Spending the summer with friends at https://prescottfarm.org/ .
The Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center in Laconia is dedicated to environmental education and hosts programs and events to teach us how to connect with our natural surroundings. It’s off the beaten path but not far from the lake shore and downtown Laconia.
If you have never visited, I highly recommend as an outing for the entire family. There are the gardens, trails and a children’s playscape - the entire setting spans over 100 acres. All of its anchored by a stately barn that was originally built in the 1800’s (and recently restored).
I am one of the volunteer photographers this summer, helping the center document the summer evolution of the gardens (what is growing where and when the different flowers bloom). There are 21 beds of flowers and plants and so many interesting flowers and ferns. Each week we walk them and take photos of the plants with blooms, making sure we don’t miss any. When we are all done, there will be a booklet that outlines the gardens for the center’s records and used for programs. Its early in the spring and the gardens are already beautiful, can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings!
